Asiimwe Tobius:Samuel Ahumaza is now four years old.“ I discovered him at the age of 5 months. No one knows, where Ahumuza Samuel came from. As a toddler he was found dumped on the road side crying early in the morning. Samuel has been an inspiration to all the staff and children at Jericho Child Foundation Uganda, full of charisma, enthusiasm and a positive approach in life is how we can describe him.

Jericho Child Foundation Uganda supports him with food, health care, and school fees along side with scholastic materials.

2 „Hello my name is Asiimwe Travis I’m 10 years old.“

GALLERY – click on Photo to enlarge.

I’m from banyankore tribe. I used to live in a very poor village, where having two square meals per day was rare privilege. Everyone in the village wanted away out of our poverty. And that includes some of my peers.

Two years ago – just before I came to Jericho child foundation Uganda, two of my friends invited me to run away to Kampala city to beg money on city streets. Some of us persuaded them not to go but they ware determined and would not listen to us!!

They left: two years went by and I had no idea where they are and what happened to my two little village friends.

When I lastly went back to my village, I met them, the boys came back with rash skin diseases, empty handed, tears flowing out into their eyes, so I looked back in a wounder moment. If not for the grace and mercy of God, I could have been one of the little boys who went to the city to work as beggars on the streets of Kampala.

I love to study to eliminate poverty in my community and save other less fortunate children like me in future.“
